relevant history

For the longest time, Rootfur considered himself just your every day warrior. Born to two of SwampClan's fine warriors, he was raised like every other kit. With tales of the past heroes, of the past villians, and of the adventures SwampClan cats had gone on. It had been an utter shock, that after Yellowcloud died, Petalstar chose him to be deputy.

It had taken him a long time to get the hang of to having to order cats around, and even longer to get comfortable to it. Slowly though, it did become second nature. When Petalstar passed away to blackcough, it was with the blessing of the Clan that he became leader.

It has been many, many moons since then, and more battles, triumphs, and deaths to count. The leader feels like a father to his Clan, after all he's seen and lived through. Seeing the young cats training reminds him of the cats before, and warms his heart.

Speaking of fathers, his recently retired to the Elder's den. It only makes Rootstar feel older, even though with four lives to go, he has plenty of life a head of him.
